At Kotoku-in Temple in Kamakura, sits Japan's second-largest Great Buddha Statue. Initially made of wood and built from 1238 to 1243, it was destroyed by a violent storm, being reconstructed in bronze five years later and remaining until now. It's 11.3m tall, and visitors can actually enter the statue to see how it is made inside! By paying an extra 20 yen (yes, 20 yen!) you can get inside! But there is no one asking for money. People just pay, like a code of honor.
