While I think that anyone could happily spend their entire vacation relaxing and enjoying all that KAI Alps has to offer within their hotel, the resort also caters for those who like a little bit more action in their day.

KAI Alps is located within close proximity to six ski resorts in Hakuba, one of Japan’s most popular locations for skiing and snowboarding. We decided to take a trip to Goryu which is one of the most famous resorts there. Catering to both beginners and experienced skiers alike, Goryu offers a total of 17 ski lifts and 23 ski courses, which should be enough to satisfy even the most seasoned winter sports enthusiasts. They also have courses suitable for children, so its perfect for families too. KAI Alps offers a free shuttle bus to and from the resort for guests, which means you don’t have to worry about transport. If you think that sounds good, then you will be even more pleased to hear that KAI Alps has a private rest room located within Goryu that all guests can make use of free of charge!

We happened to be visiting Goryu on Christmas Day, and it certainly was a winter wonderland. There was about three feet of fresh snow beneath our feet as we made our way up and down the slopes, and the views from the ski lifts and tops of the mountains were breathtaking to say the least.

After an enjoyable but tiring day out in the snow, it was a pleasure to retire to the private rest room and put my feet up on one of the soft couches while sipping on a hot drink from the coffee machine. However, just because you’re taking a break doesn’t mean you have to cut yourself off from the slopes - the room boasts a large floor-length window that give a fantastic view of the slopes outside, and I certainly enjoyed watching skiers dressed in Santa costumes slide up and down as I took it easy for a bit.
