Festival Salju Tokamachi berlangsung setiap tahun dan sejarahnya mulai sejak tahun 1950. Wilayah di Niigata ini terkenal sebagai salah satu tempat yang memiliki jumlah salju tertinggi tidak hanya di Jepang, tetapi juga di dunia! Jadi ada banyak hal menarik terkait salju yang bisa Anda nikmati di sini! Festival ini tersebar di banyak lokasi, dengan patung-patung salju, pertunjukan musik, kontes kecantikan kimono, dan masih banyak lagi.
Acara tahun ini dibuka pada hari Jumat, tanggal 15 Februari, mulai pukul 18.00, dan ditutup pada pukul 15.00 hari Minggu, 17 Februari.
Getting there
To get to Tokamachi from Tokyo, take the Joetsu Shinkansen to Echigo Yuzawa. From there, change to the local JR Hoku-Hoku line and get off at Tokamachi Station.
There is a visitors information center within the station itself. Some staff at the information center also speak English, and are able to provide more details about the various sites where the festival is taking place.
The main venue is located approximately 20 minutes on foot from Tokamachi Station. Alternatively, taxis are available from the station.
