Odaiba is a popular tourist spot located in Tokyo Bay. Originally a collection of man made islands created to protect Tokyo against attacks in the Edo Period (1603-1868), it has been a shopping and entertainment district since the 1990s. It is the place to go for world-class dining and leisure activities, and is renowned for its futuristic technologies. With masses of lights, restaurants, and a great view of the Rainbow Bridge, it’s a fantastic place to visit at night.

The Rainbow Bridge, which connects Odaiba to the rest of Tokyo, is an iconic symbol of the bay. At night, the bridge is illuminated, and, from the right angle, Tokyo Tower can also be seen lit up in the background. The bridge supports cars, trains and pedestrians.

The giant robot statue outside the DiverCity Plaza is based on the classic cult series called Gundam. At 18 meters tall, the Gundam statue was constructed to scale with the original robots from the series.

The 115 meter high Ferris Wheel outside Venus Fort, lit up against the night sky. A complete revolution of the wheel takes about 15 minutes, and offers views of Odaiba and the Tokyo Bay.

There are numerous night cruises of Tokyo Bay. They are especially popular in the summer months, when the weather is warm and breezy.

The Odaiba walkways are lined with flowers. The vivid reds and purples of the flowers are still visible in the early evenings.

Odaiba is an entertainment district, and the Decks shopping mall features a wide variety of stores, restaurants and tourist attractions, including a Legoland Discovery Center and a Madame Tussauds wax museum.

The neon lights reflected on the water create a spectacular sight. Odaiba is the perfect vantage point for watching Tokyo Bay come alive at night.
