Being one of the three greatest Hachiman Shrines in Japan, the Hakozaki shrine in Fukuoka is famous for its god Hachiman, who wards off evil and brings in winning luck. This shrine, where many famous samurais in history have come to pray and show respect, is located near the sea and has an open and brisk atmosphere, especially during the summer. Many people still visit the shrine to pray for good luck nowadays as well, but it is definitely worth a trip even to walk around the beautiful green garden and then chill by the aesthetic blue of Hakata Bay.
