奥球磨県立公園内、市房ダム湖の桜は熊本県で第二の人気お花見スポット。約一万本の桜がダムに沿って植えられ、ドライブしながらでも十分楽しむことができる。桜の季節には各イベントが開催され、市房ダム湖園地では飲み物や食べ物などの屋台が出てピクニックを楽しむ人が多くなる。まだまだ花冷えのする季節、暖かくして出かけよう。帰りに温泉に立ち寄るのも乙。
