Satta Toge Pass

There are more signs to follow as you walk from Okitsu station

The walk takes you through a temple graveyard

And here's the start of the pass proper

Looking out across the sea

A wider view of the panorama

And a closer view

The path is lined with fruit trees

I found the rusted remains of what I guess was a chairlift

Every time you round a bend, there Mount Fuji is

It attracts a good number of photographers

Between Okitsu and Yui stations on the outskirts of Shizuoka City, the Satta Toge pass is a trail up over a large hill overlooking the coast, made famous in an Ukiyo-e woodblock print by Hiroshige. It commands an impressive view of Mount Fuji from a number of vantage points along the walk, and on clear evenings you'll see plenty of amateur photographers training their cameras on the mountain as dusk settles over it.
