Kiriko são lanternas gigantes que são transportadas pelas ruas durante os festivais de verão na península de Noto. Diz-se que existem entre 800 a 900 lanternas kiriko em Noto. Os kiriko normalmente acompanham os Mikoshi (santuários portáteis) durante estes festivais. Cerca de 180 festivais de kiriko têm lugar em Noto entre julho e setembro. Só na cidade de Wajima têm lugar 30 deles.
